Self-Check-In: 1 pm - 10 pm

Rooms are available to check-into from 1 pm, with last arrivals welcome no later than 10 pm. Earlier arrivals for luggage drop-off are possible with prior arrangement only so your house entry code can be adjusted accordingly.

Our guests are provided the flexibility to check-in at their own convenience using a personalised code for the front door and instructions provided prior to your arrival. Your host is not present at all times of the day although we will come to greet you as soon as available to do so and help with any queries or requests you may have.

Upon making a reservation a 'Self-Check-In Guide' is issued which explains everything you'll need to know for your arrival, including your personalised front door entry code. We recommend reading and saving the guide on your mobile device for later use, or printing the guide only if necessary.

A few days prior to arrival guests will receive a 'Registration Form' which should be completed ahead of arrival.

After check-in guests will have access to our online 'Guest's Hub' containing a wealth of local knowledge and available services to help during your stay.

Luggage & Bicycle Storage

For any guests wishing to drop off luggage prior to the 1 pm check-in time then this can easily be arranged with advance notification.

A storage room is located on the ground floor of the property, so after entering the house with your personalised front door code you can safely leave your luggage in the storage room until later in the day.

These facilities are also available to all guests on the day of check-out. Before departing just let us know when you except to return to collect your possessions and we will adjust your door code accordingly.

Parking Options

There are limited off-street parking facilities at the Churchill House which are reservable upon advance request, pending availability.

Please note that the spaces are suitable for small/regular sized vehicles only.

Parking instructions for your reserved space will be sent to you prior to your arrival day.

On-street parking is available throughout the local area with the following options:

Street parking in front of the Churchill House and on the side street Laureston Place is free and unrestricted from 5:30 pm to 8:30 am the next day (all day Sunday). At other times of the day you are permitted 2 hours free parking, so in effect you can park from 3:30 pm to 10:30 am the next day.
Public car parking facilities are available just across the street from the Churchill House at Woolcomber Street car park and St James' car park.

Self-Catering Facilities

All rooms and suites at the Churchill House are let on a self-catering basis only and have access to fully equipped kitchen facilities and dining areas.

The Clementine king, Victoria king and Patricia twin rooms all share one kitchen and dining room on the first floor half-landing.
The Spencer double, Winston twin and Chartwell single rooms all share one kitchen and dining room on the 3rd floor.
The Sarah apartment is fully self-contained and has it's own private kitchen facilities.

High Speed Wi-Fi

The Churchill House boasts high speed fibre Wi-fi throughout the house using a mesh system ensuring full speeds are true and consistent.

Whenever a guest has a important online video call we can also set the device as a priority at a moments notice, which ensures a trouble free connection.

Eco-Friendly Policy

At the Churchill House we strive to be eco-conscious in all our activities and business operations, and we strongly encourage our guests to help us achieve our aims.

We provide recycling bins and ask guests to separate their plastic, metal and paper waste appropriately.

Any unwanted clothing is donated to charity

All our rooms are equipped with hot drinks making facilities and filtered bottled water. The complimentary drinks provided include:

Linens & Towels

Our linens are made from 100% cotton, bedding filled with goose feather & down, and the towels are soft, white and fluffy.

Linens are professionally laundered and refreshed every 3-4 days during a stay.

The duvets are filled with goose feather & down, and we provide two types of pillow filling in all rooms - goose feather & down and a soft synthetic alternative.

For guests with allergies, however, just let us know in advance of your arrival and we will replace all the bedding with synthetic alternative.

All rooms are supplied with large fluffy white bath sheets, hand towels, and waffle bathrobes (slippers & facecloths are currently not provided).

We also have a supply of beach towels for anyone brave enough to take a dip in the English Channel.

The Churchill House offers a perfect sojourn prior to embarking on any of the wonderful cruises departing from the ancient port town of Dover. To ensure your comfort and enjoyment is at it's best during the pre-boarding stage of your journey we help with each step of transport and provide the thoughtful homely touches which make a world of difference while travelling.
